New Release of Leak, the Safeti frequency calculation tool

We are pleased to announce the release of Leak v3.21, which has been developed to resolve a small number of issues raised following the Leak v3.2 release in 2007. The main issue addressed only affected customers with regional settings which use a comma instead of a point as the decimal symbol.

There are no other enhancements or new features in Leak 3.21 compared to version 3.2. The main changes to the program compared to Leak v3.1.1 are described below:

  • A modified analytical function has been implemented together with revised coefficients.

  • Users can now choose between using Single or Multiple categories. In the case of Multiple categories, the Leak frequency function is calculated separately for different scenarios which may have different consequences for the same hole size.

  • The reports have been simplified to present the relevant level of detail and restructured to handle both single and multiple categories. New charts have been added to the Excel Summary report.

  • A new Leak Administrator mode is now available which will allow users to view or modify the individual Base Element coefficients for the default Continuous and Discrete types

  • The Help functionality has been improved and is now consistent with help functions available in other Safeti products such as Phast and Phast Risk

  • Leak project files created in a previous version will be upgraded automatically when they are first opened in Leak 3.21.

The above enhancements and others features are documented in detail in the Release Notes included with the release CD and download. A description of these is also available from the Help pages of the software. In addition, a number of bugs have been fixed. The complete list of corrected issues can also be found in the Release Notes.

Leak v3.21 has been developed in partnership with DNV Energy who have derived and updated the Leak interpolation functions and associated coefficients throughout the tool’s lifecycle. Leak v3.21 is aligned with the latest revision work carried out by DNV Energy. DNV Software are keen to develop Leak further so please keep us informed of any enhancements you would like to see in future versions.
