'The China market is one of the key growth engines' says Elling Rishoff, managing director DNV Software

On the first day of the event, which took place at the Shanghai Hong Qiao Guest Hotel, DNV Software held a press conference roundtable attracting eight journalists from several industrial media, such as China Ship News, Ship Engineering, Maritime China, Chemall etc. Elling Rishoff, managing director of DNV Software, presented DNV’s 'green ambition' in China to the media. Stone Zhang, Ketil Aamnes, Tormod Svensen, Gro Oftedal, Cathy Zhang, Alex Jiao and Tourie Lv participated from the DNV side.

Since January 1st 2008, DNV Software has established another develop centre outside headquarter in Shanghai to strengthen the local competence in delivering market oriented software packages. Already have the Asset Integrity Management (AIM) and the Environment Performance System (EPS) empowered DNV Software to create more value for the Chinese local companies in asset integrity and energy efficiency.

‘China is a critical manufacturing giant in the world for decades, accompanying a lot of aging assets' need to be systematically inspected’ said Stone Zhang, regional manager for DNV Software Asian Pacific, ‘to help local customers actualise their sustainable development while being friendly to our environment.’

In the past few years, global warming and pollution issues have risen so high that heated debates on the climate change effects of CO2 emission have arouse hugh attention in the society. Several social responsible companies have taken action to manage more efficient energy consumption and 'go green', while how to cross geographic boarders assessing the whole environmental performance of companies is a big challenge globally. The Environmental Performance System from DNV Software offers an easy, low-cost way for companies, which supports the international standards including Global Reporting Initiative standards, ISO 14001, and IM0- MECP 471. The China development centre has participated in the development of EPS lead by Tormod Svensen, head of DNV Software Solutions in Region Asia Pacific.

In return the journalists came up with highly interesting questions on DNV’s environmental technologies and involvement at the press conference, where Elling Rishoff concluded: ’The China market is one of the key growth engines which has achieved a brilliant revenue growth record in the past few years. Through collaboration with local academic institutions and industrial customers, we hope our innovative green software and solutions can help Chinese companies to achieve environmental-friendly sustainable development.’
